Sheppard Memorial Library: Computers & Technology

Free Drive-up WiFi

Effective immediately, Sheppard Memorial Library is excited to be able to offer excellent free Wi-Fi in the parking lots of all five SML locations: the Main Library in Uptown Greenville, as well as at the East Branch Library, the George Washington Carver Library, the Winterville Library, and the Margaret Little Blount Library in Bethel. Patrons should look for the Wi-Fi network name Library Public Wi-Fi and there is no password required. There is a strong signal in the public parking spaces near the library facilities, including in the entire Main Library public lot as well as on the Evans Street side of the building outside the original entrance and in the Chess Park area. We hope that this Wi-Fi access will be a help to all of our patrons and community members during the COVID pandemic, and beyond! The parking lot Wi-Fi will be live daily from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

This service is made possible by funding from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) as administered by the State Library of North Carolina, a division of the N.C. Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (IMLS grant number LS-246551-OLS-20)

Other Technologies

Not only does Sheppard Memorial Library offer computers and high speed Internet access for patrons but a variety of other technologies including e-audiobooks, e-books, and self-checkout at the circulation desk.

These technologies allow the patron to not only discover new material and read best-selling novels but it allows the library to further reach patrons. Please check back with our staff as we incorporate new technologies in the library system.
